The app automatically stores certain information to function properly:

– **What:** The words you select and arrange to create poems

– `.whenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly` accessibility (most secure)
– Keys never sync to iCloud
– Keys automatically deleted during “Reset Data”

**Purpose:** Deliver purchased content efficiently. Logs are temporary and used only for debugging and service operation.

 

**Your Content:** Your created poems are NEVER uploaded to CloudFront—only the source content (Packs, Themes, Palettes) you download is delivered this way.

– **Photo Library:** For saving exported poems (only when you tap “Save to Photos”)
– **Share Sheet:** For sharing poems via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, etc.
– **System Dictionary:** For word definitions during poem creation
– **iOS Keychain:** For secure storage of encryption keys

 

**Privacy:** All these services use Apple’s iOS privacy frameworks and require explicit user permission.

 

**What’s Shared:** Only what you explicitly choose to share or save. We never automatically access your photos or share your data.

**All your creative work stays on your device.**

### Retention Period

 

Your data is stored on your device until you:
1. Delete individual poems (via swipe-to-delete in Collection)
2. Use “Reset Data” in Settings (deletes all app data)
3. Uninstall the application (iOS automatically removes all app data)

 

**Important:** We have no access to your data and cannot recover deleted data. Deletion is permanent.

 

### iOS Backups

 

**Backup Behavior:**
– If your device is backed up to iCloud or iTunes, your encrypted app data may be included in the backup
– Restoring from backup may restore your poems and settings
– We have no access to or control over backup data
– Backup behavior is controlled by iOS and Apple’s backup policies

 

**What Gets Backed Up:**
– Encrypted poem data (poems.json)
– Encrypted poem images
– App settings and preferences
– Achievement progress
– Purchase history (managed by Apple, not stored in backup)

 

**What Does NOT Get Backed Up:**
– Encryption keys from iOS Keychain (device-specific, not backed up)
– High-resolution export files (saved to your Photos or Files, backed up separately by iOS)
– Downloaded Packs, Themes, and Palettes (can be re-downloaded after restore)

 

**After Restoring:**
– Encrypted data may be restored but encryption keys are device-specific
– You may need to re-download purchased content
– Purchase history is restored via your Apple ID

## Sharing Your Poems

 

### When You Choose to Share

 

Remix Poet includes a Share button that lets you:
– Save poems to your Photos library
– Share via Messages, Mail, social media, etc.
– Export to other apps

 

**Your Control:**
– You initiate all sharing
– You choose what to share and with whom
– We never automatically share your data

 

### What Happens When You Share

 

When you use the Share feature:
1. A rendered image of your poem is created
2. iOS presents sharing options
3. You choose where to send the image
4. The image is sent only to your chosen destination

 

The image may contain:
– Your poem text
– Your author name (if you included it)
– Styling and design elements

 

**Important:** Once shared, the image is subject to the privacy policies of the platforms you share to (e.g., Instagram, iMessage, etc.).

## Data Export

 

### High-Resolution Downloads

 

**What They Are:**
– Optional consumable in-app purchase ($6.99)
– Unlocks high-resolution PNG files (2700×4050 pixels) of a specific poem
– Perfect for printing at home or on custom items (hoodies, mugs, phone cases, etc.)

 

**What Gets Exported:**
– Your poem text and blackout pattern
– Transparent PNG format (no background mockup/frame)
– Color version + Two black versions (if your poem uses color)

 

**How Export Works:**
1. You purchase the high-resolution unlock for a specific poem
2. Files are generated instantly on your device
3. You choose where to save them via iOS Share Sheet (Photos, Files, AirDrop, Mail, etc.)
4. Files are saved to your chosen destination
5. You can re-download as long as the poem remains in your collection

 

**Privacy:**
– **We do not store copies** of your exported high-resolution images
– Files are generated on your device and delivered directly to your chosen destination
– No upload to our servers
– No cloud storage by us
– What happens to the files after export depends on where you save them (Photos, Files, cloud storage, etc.)

 

**Data You Can Export:**
– Individual poems as high-resolution PNG files (via purchase)
– Individual poems as standard resolution images (via Share button, free)
– No bulk export of all poems or settings

 

**What You Cannot Export:**
– App settings and preferences (no export function)
– Achievement progress (local only)
– Tag usage statistics (local only)
– Purchase history (managed by Apple via your Apple ID)

 

### Standard Resolution Sharing

 

**Free Export Options:**
– Share button exports standard resolution images (free, anytime)
– Saved to Photos or shared via iOS Share Sheet
– Lower resolution than high-res exports (900×900 pixels for screen use)
– Includes background mockup/frame from Style Editor

## Data Deletion

 

### Delete Individual Poems

 

**How:** Swipe left on any poem in the Collection view → tap Delete

 

**What’s Deleted:**
– The poem data (encrypted)
– The rendered image file
– References in your collection

 

**What Persists:**
– Your overall statistics (total poems created)
– Unlocked achievements
– App settings

 

### Complete Data Reset

 

**How:** Settings → Reset Data → Type “ERASE” to confirm

 

**What’s Deleted:**
– ✅ All saved poems and their images
– ✅ All user progress and achievements
– ✅ All app settings and preferences
– ✅ All custom tags
– ✅ All encryption keys from Keychain
– ✅ All app data

 

**Result:** The app returns to factory state as if freshly installed.

 

### Uninstalling the App

 

When you uninstall Remix Poet:
– iOS automatically deletes all app data
– All poems, images, and settings are removed
– Encryption keys are removed from Keychain
– No data remains on your device

 

**We cannot recover your data after uninstallation.**

– Content descriptions and metadata
– Full content files (only when you purchase or download)

 

**Your Control:**
– All downloads are optional
– You can use the app entirely offline with bundled content
– Downloaded content is stored locally on your device

 

### Network Connectivity Monitoring

 

**What We Check:**
The app checks your internet connection status to determine whether online content is available for browsing.

 

**What This Means:**
– The app detects if you’re online or offline
– This helps provide a better experience (no broken images when offline)
– When offline, only locally available content is shown

 

**What We Do NOT Collect:**
– ❌ Which WiFi networks you connect to
– ❌ Your IP address or network identifiers
– ❌ Network usage patterns or browsing history
– ❌ Any information about your connection

 

**Technical Details:**
We use Apple’s `NWPathMonitor` API which simply returns “connected” or “not connected.” No network information is stored, transmitted, or analyzed.

This connectivity check is purely functional—to ensure the app only displays content that’s actually accessible to you at that moment.
